Chuck & Alf's award winning base jumping adventure film
(April 2000, 21 mins)

It's Christmas 1999. Two experienced base jumpers, Chuck and Andy are lamenting the fact that "Nobody does anything gnarly any more."
So begins their quest to find "The One."

The site they choose, deep in New Zealand's Southern Alps is so steep, so unprotectable that just getting to the top of it is a major mission. This film charts their determination to conquer that site.

THE FALLS
A lot of people would be put off by the terrain. Few would be prepared to throw themselves off an untried cliff. Chuck Berry not only lead the climb and jumped the jump (several times) but he filmed the expedition as well. His remarkable DV camera footage makes up 95% of the film.
SEE ANDY JUMP
Shot from the participants' perspective, "The One" is very personal and probably the most honest basejumping film you'll ever see. There's no dramatisation, no recreation. This is the real thing. The humour running through the film is genuine and addictive.
Speaking of humour, the secret recipe for Andy's amazing sandwich (from the tent scene) can be found by running your mouse over the following line and holding it there. (Is that a cute javascript trick or what?)

SEE ANDY FLY...

"The One" screened at the Telluride Mountain Film Festival in May 2000 and has since screened at more than twenty four film festivals (we've lost count) in Canada, USA, France, Spain, Poland, and New Zealand.
In August 2001 The One won the "Best Sport in Nature" award at the Teplice nad Metuji Film Festival in Czechoslovakia. The Czechs kindly sent us this nice carving of a little wooden guy with a ropey head. We're pretty chuffed!
